Strength in Being | Print
The story: The year my art took off, my marriage nearly fell apart. This painting is a symbol of that year, a symbol of the strength it takes as a couple to stay rooted, even when roots appear to be diverging and leaves that have grown over the years begin falling. Strength in being is incredibly difficult to achieve because I am many things – Christ-follower, wife, mother, daughter, friend, artist, more – and I want to keep all of them in balance, meaning the artistic side of me sometimes comes last, yet is an intentional choice that I wouldn’t change if I could. Out of our limits comes resolve – and reinvention. This is the painting that did that for us.
