The story: After spending 10 days traveling Alaska, talking to locals, and living like a local with my father-in-law in Seward, I came to see Alaska like this: beautiful at a distance … yet bleak up close. For me, the constant darkness from November to April isn’t something I could handle long-term, but it does give rise to irreplaceable scenes you can’t find anywhere else.
