The story: In the darkness, there is depth. That’s what I’ve always been told by deep-sea divers, who have been to these sorts of places. There’s a different type of clarity in those places, where color stands out not because of light, but in the absence of it – and it’s only visible when you get deep enough so your eyes can adjust. There’s no sound, nothing. Just you and whatever’s in the water with you.
